Training

Once you've been appointed as a panel member, you get lots of help and training.

The initial training course for new panel members takes around 6-7 days to complete. A range of different training course options and timings will be available between August and December 2012. Training is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by four training units based at four Scottish Universities: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Queen Margaret, Edinburgh and St Andrews.

The training is designed to develop a range of skills, including:

  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Effective communication
  • Analytical thinking
  • Decision making
  • Influencing and negotiating
