Danny - 15 years old
Danny was referred to the Children's Reporter when he was 15 years old with around 20 offences. He had real problems communicating and drug and alcohol issues cast a shadow over his life.
The Children's Reporter (the person who makes a decision about the need to refer a child/young person to a Children’s Hearing) referred his case to a children's hearing, Danny accepted all the offences which included smashing up his own family home and the hearing made a compulsory supervision order.
One of the main features of his compulsory supervision order was that Danny was placed on a work experience programme where he discovered he had a flair for garage work. He really enjoyed this and his life started to settle down significantly. He remained on supervision until he was almost 17 years old.
Danny is now a confident young man with a permanent job.
