Not sure if panel membership is for you? You can find out more about being a panel member in East Dunbartonshire by reading the information below. Also have a look at the Become a Children’s Panel member and the Panel member testimonials pages where you can discover what it is like for people like you, who are already children’s panel members and you can hear from young people about the differences that panel members can make to their lives.

BEING A PANEL MEMBER IN EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE

You must live or work in East Dunbartonshire and although you do not need to have previous experience of working with children, you must have an interest in their welfare and the time and commitment to undertake this important role.

We expect panel members to commit to sitting on one hearing session per month, with the expectation that more availability/flexibility is provided to allow a viable rota to be created. In addition to the mandatory training you will be expected to attend at least 4 out of 6 of our local training events.

HEARINGS SCHEDULE

Hearings are held at an East Dunbartonshire Council owned venue, 21 Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch G66 1NH. Hearings are generally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and afternoons.
